ABOUT
Mia Tešić (born 2001) is a speculative designer and interdisciplinary artist based in Vienna. Her practice explores contemporary topics through material experimentation, hands-on processes, and tangible experiences. Central to her work is the creation of dialogue, inviting new perspectives through objects and narratives that engage both mind and body.

Mia’s approach blends craft, performance, and storytelling, often incorporating participatory elements that encourage shared experiences and active observation. Whether through collaborative making or immersive installations, her work speculates on future possibilities while remaining grounded in the physicality of materials and the act of creation.

In collaboration with

Today’s world feels increasingly hectic leaving us with less time for introspection and for mentally caring about ourselves. This leads to a sense of disconnection and loss of our true selves.
.
To address this deficit EUPNEA was created. An interactive installation that is meant to help people find a deeper connection to themselves through listening to acoustic variations of their breathing rhythm. The installation consists of 12 copper tubes that form a cylindric space. One enters the space wearing headphones and a microphone that enables hearing one’s breath amplified in real time. When a tube is touched, a sound effect appears that manipulates the breath, and with each tube touched, a different, novel version of one’s own personal breath is created.
.
This project challenges people to look more closely at what their way of breathing is telling them about themselves and their emotional state.
