ABOUT
Mia Tešić (born 2001) is a speculative designer and interdisciplinary artist based in Vienna. Her practice explores contemporary topics through material experimentation, hands-on processes, and tangible experiences. Central to her work is the creation of dialogue, inviting new perspectives through objects and narratives that engage both mind and body.

Mia’s approach blends craft, performance, and storytelling, often incorporating participatory elements that encourage shared experiences and active observation. Whether through collaborative making or immersive installations, her work speculates on future possibilities while remaining grounded in the physicality of materials and the act of creation.

For this project I experimented with glass for the first time in my life. During my exchange semester at Design Academy Eindhoven I got the chance to try out different techniques of glass work and decided to choose lamp working to create over 70 vessels. I used clear and colored tubes and rods to form little bodies inspired by sea creatures or otherworldly things. The process of making and figuring out a technique to shape the vessels the way I wanted to was a meditative one. I was lucky to be guided by Marc Barreda and his intern Tereza Hubová who both taught me patience and the love for this material.
.
For the end term presentation I hung up 77 vessels in a rose bush and filled them up with various drinks. I got inspired by wellness shots and their many promises to heal and purify both mind and body. Each drink came with so called benefits through their secret ingredients, playing on how wellness products are marketed to us. While the contents looked sacred in their delicate glass forms, what’s really inside is less important than the illusion of health, purity, and meaning. Through making people participate in consuming the shots, curiosity was sparked and interaction with the installation brought the piece to life.

The pieces were further exhibited at the exhibition Lucky Loop in Vienna (October 2025) at Schwindel LLC
